              1. Introduction to Bakelite.

Bakelite, commonly known as bakelite, scientifically known as phenolic molding compound, is a type of thermosetting plastic, and it is also the earliest plastic to be put into industrial production. The bakelite injection molding machine bakelite powder used in Bakelite injection molding is composed of phenolic resin, sawdust, and additives such as hardener, curing agent, plasticizer, colorant, lubricant, and curing enhancer. It is also possible to modify the bakelite powder according to various needs, and there are about 40% additives in the bakelite powder. Phenolic resin is a polycondensation product of phenol and formaldehyde. It has high mechanical strength, stable performance, acid and alkali resistance, high temperature and low temperature resistance, high hardness, wear resistance, non-hydrophilicity, and excellent electrical insulation. It is an ideal insulation material. The plasticizing temperature of bakelite powder is 70-90°C, and the curing temperature is around 160°C. Bakelite solidifies suddenly when the temperature reaches 160°C. Therefore, fine control of mold temperature is very important for shaping. Uses of bakelite: electrical switches, knobs, kitchen handles, electrical casings, and this year have been more and more widely used in electrical accessories, auto parts, and handicrafts.

              2. Bakelite injection molding process

              1. Key overview of the Bakelite injection molding process.

              a. The preheated barrel of bakelite powder is in the state of molten material with a viscosity

              b. Since the bakelite powder contains 40% filler, the injection resistance is very large, so a larger injection pressure should be applied.

              c. Bakelite powder is not required and cannot be dried before pre-molding

              d. During the injection molding process of the injection molding machine, since the curing process of Bakelite is accompanied by the generation of water vapor and chemical gas, the mold should be equipped with exhaust grooves, and even the mold opening exhaust process should be added.

              e. Plasticizing conditions: back pressure, screw speed, material temperature.
